Happy New Year!

A quick post to wish everyone a happy 2021.

2020 has certainly been bizarre and challenging for us all. I hope you managed to make the best of it whatever way you could and that you have positive plans for 2021.

I used lockdown to write Another green and pleasant land, and I am now in a position to look for publishers and agents.

Another green and pleasant is alternate history and just over 87,000 words long. It opens on New Year’s Day 2019 in Nottingham. The heroine, Kate, is twenty-nine and fed up with how her life has turned out. She vows to make changes in the coming year, but her life takes a very different turn and changes in unimaginable ways when she literally discovers another world.

This is a stand alone novel, but I have used the world I created to plot another novel. I will use whatever restrictions are enforced on us in 2021 to take the time to write it!

New novel

I have just finished plotting my new novel, Another green and pleasant land. I have over seven pages of bullet points and notes, so there is plenty to work with!

Obviously a novel changes so much between the first draft and publication, but I can confirm this novel is alternative history and opens in 2019 in Britain.

Britain is a country divided by Brexit and changing rapidly. However, life is only going to get stranger for our heroine when she starts a temporary job at an archaeological dig.

Just what are her mysterious colleagues hiding?
